The skies above Avalon are set to erupt when the Australian International Airshow returns. It’s going to be a huge weekend of high octane excitement and fun for the whole family with trade stalls, merchandise tents, opportunities to meet pilots and crew and even sit in the cockpit’s of some aircraft. This once-in-a-lifetime event will bring together the largest variety of RAAF assets ever assembled at Avalon, including historical and modern aircraft of the Royal Australian Air Force. They’ll be joined by a cavalcade of civil aircraft including historic barnstormers, WWI, WWII, breath-taking aerobatics and the latest jet power from around the globe.
After a four-year hiatus, the Australian International Airshow was back in 2023 and delivered on its promised of being bigger and better than ever before. Airshow returned with never-before-seen aircraft on Australian soil, the largest event site in Airshow history, a new entrance and viewing areas as well as exciting new ground attractions, including the Avalon Eye Ferris Wheel which gave aviation fans both young and old a bird’s eye view of Avalon.
The nine-ship Republic of Korean Air Force (ROKAF) Back Eagles Aerobatic Team and their pilots were the (rock)stars of the show for their inaugural visit to Avalon with pinpoint precision flying displays, breathtaking vapor trail designs and a final display that we won’t soon forget! Outstanding F-35 Lightning, F-18 Hornet and F-22 Raptor displays from the R.A.A.F and U.S.A.F left the crowd in awe as did the aircraft of past like the Canberra bomber and other WW2 aircraft like the Hudson, Spitfire, Mustang, Boomerang.
Daring wing walking, aerobatic and formation displays and explosive pyrotechnics keep spectators eyes glued to the skies!
The show starts at mid-day on the Friday the 28th March with an evening fireworks display and 2 full days entertainment! While its early days with the organisation- you can be rest assured that the 2025 show will be just as good if not bigger!
