See jaw-dropping solo and formation aerobatics displays and relive the past with a spectacular display of classic warbirds and amazing vintage aircraft of yesteryear. Be inspired by the Australian Defence Force as they present the best our country has to offer with loud, fast fighter jets and huge heavy transport aircraft. Some of Australia’s top formation flying teams will delight and provide you with an unforgettable experience as they perform breath-taking manoeuvres above the beautiful Illawarra countryside.

Immerse yourself in history as you wander through rare displays of vintage and classic aircraft including the fully-restored Super Constellation and record breaking Qantas 747 along with some beautifully restored WW2 fighters.

In 2020, your entry ticket will once again include access to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society aircraft that are open for inspection. You won’t want to miss the heart stopping aerial antics of the flying displays, the fantastic static displays, souvenirs and simulators. But the family fun doesn’t end there! Wings Over Illawarra will include world class freestyle motocross displays throughout the day and a massive carnival with rides for young and old, all included in the entry ticket price.

Static Displays

2020 will be by far the best Wings Over Illawarra yet, with a fantastic array of both static and flying aircraft. You’ll not only witness a full program of breathtaking aerobatic and handling displays, but also be able to get up close to some amazing birds from the past and present.

Each year Wings Over Illawarra is supported by all three arms of the Australian Defence Force, with air displays and static exhibits from the Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army. 2020 will see the largest collection of Australian Defence Force aircraft ever seen in the Illawarra. Although the Defence line-up for Wings Over Illawarra 2020 is yet to be finalised, here’s what made all of the noise in the past:
